BROWNING Foundation is a not-for-profit IRS Code 501(c) 3 Organization, established in March 2017, based in Philadelphia, PA. The organization undertakes several programs that intervenes positively on behalf of people with a variety of needs. These programs are summarizes as follows:

      Provide educational materials to children and their families.
      Support positive reinforcement youth seminars.
      Assist with educating at risk teens about the benefits of literacy.
      Sponsor programs that will ensure long-term success.

Scholarship Overview

The Browning Foundation, through contributions and donations, will hold and administer certain funds that provide scholarship grants to individuals; thus, enabling the recipients to attend and pay towards an undergraduate or graduate education in the field of their choice and at an accredited college or university of their choice

The Browning Foundation values and encourages the interest and involvement of donors to fund or establish Scholarship Grants or individual Achievement Awards.

Deon B. Browning

Deon B. Browning, Esq. LL.M is the founder and principal of BLG logo. Deon honed his litigation skills in the Courts of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania and Federal Courts of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Hard work and results-driven representation are the foundation that BLG logo is built upon. Deon's hard working approach to all his cases personifies his West Philadelphia upbringing and the hard-nosed attitude that the city is known for.

Deon's Philly roots gives him a unique perspective as an Attorney and has been named one of the top criminal attorneys by the American Institue of Legal Counsel. Part of being an advocate is being able to fully understand those you are charged with advocating for. The passion that he has for the people he represents and their condition is evident in his practice.

In addition to a plethora of pro bono work; Deon is chairman of the Browning Foundation. The Browning Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to raising money for community organizations and providing scholarship opportunities to those in need.

Educated in the Philadelphia public school system and completed his undergraduate studies at Drexel University, Deon studied law at Western Michigan's Thomas M. Cooley School of Law where he received both his Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Laws degrees (LL.M).

Kevin O'Brien

Kevin O'Brien is a trial attorney at Stampone Law, where he focuses his practice on serious personal injury claims. Kevin represents injury victims of medical malpractice, trucking and motor vehicle accidents, construction accidents, defective products, prescription drugs, medical devices, and childhood physical and sexual abuse.

Many of his colleagues often turn to him by referring complex, difficult and high-stakes cases for litigation and trial. Kevin has tried numerous cases to verdict in multiple states which have resulted in significant verdicts and settlements for his clients. Kevin has represented clients in numerous cases that have resulted in million and multi-million dollar recoveries for victims who have suffered life-altering injuries and families who have lost loved ones.

In 2014, 2015 and 2016 Kevin has been named a “Rising Star” by the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers, an award bestowed on the top 2.5% of all lawyers in Pennsylvania under the age of 40. He is a graduate of Boston College and received his law degree from Widener University School of Law. Kevin is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida.

Regina Young, a native of New Haven, CT., is a graduate of Eastern University Urban Studies program where she received her Master's Degree in Community Development. She holds a Bachelors of Arts from Central Connecticut State University.

Regina is the author of Before We Met... the developer of the Finding The Love Inside; Building Self Through The Negative Imaging curriculum, a proven Certified Grief Counselor, and a certified HIV Tester & Counselor. She received a Certificate of Completion from the Non-Profit and Communities in Faith Non-Profit Institute from the University of Pennsylvania, and is the founder of Empowered Community Development Corporation, located in Philadelphia, PA.

For most of her professional career spanning over 20 years, Regina addressed social issues as it relates to mental health in urban communities. She also has over 10 years of experience as a grassroots community organizer.

Board Member

Pastor Khalil Rogers grew up in the Bible Way Baptist Church. He’s been married to Tamika Rogers (Philadelphia School Teacher) for 14 years and they are the proud parents of two beautiful children. Khalil graduated from Penn Wood High School in 1997 and became matriculated at Eastern University by the fall semester of the same year. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, he went on to also achieved an MBA in Business Management from Eastern University.

It is notable that while enrolled at Eastern University, Pastor Khalil was a volunteer at the Barry Elementary School in West Philadelphia and a member of the Black Student League. In this role, he exhibited a welcomed burden for the young Black men influenced by urban culture. His hard work focused on bridging the gap between the streets and the church.

Pastor Khalil is a graduate of the Clergy Development Institute located at the Bible Way Baptist Church. He received his license to preach the Gospel on April 23, 2008. By mid-2014 he was ordained at the Bible Way Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Damone B. Jones, Sr.

Pastor Khalil Rogers is a lead coordinator of the Brotha-Hood (Helping Others Overcome Defeat) Program at Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center (PICC) prison. This ministry focuses on making an impact in the lives of the juvenile population who are incarcerated for adult crimes. The same energy that he brings to all his ventures are noticable in his service to the Bible Way Baptist Church in several other capacities; Trustee, Deacon, Youth ministry leader, Youth Bible Class teacher, ETA teacher, Street Evangelism, and Armor Bearer to the Sr. Pastor... just to mention a few of his many exploits and contributions.

Dr. Ernesta Gibbs Battle is the owner and operator of 2 New Heights Child Development Center. Prior to starting her business venture, she has over 21 years of experience as an educator serving in the role as an elementary school teacher, Literacy Professional Developer, Curriculum Writer/Developer, Educational Consultant and School Performance Analyst.

In her role as an Educational Analyst she gathered and compiled data related to the school’s academic performance. Dr. Battle then analyzed the school’s academic performance data and developed a plan to assist the teachers and principals in honing their skills in order to increase student learning.

Dr. Battle earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park, her Master’s in Education from Howard University, and Her Doctorate in Education from Morgan State University. Dr. Battle remains committed to community development and lands her expertise to various organizations in the eastern region as well as her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta.
